Anna Fernqvist Svensson, Karl-Fredrik Björklund and Jakob Westling has contributed to the Sweden chapter of the guide, which provides an overview of the legal and regulatory framework for data protection and privacy in Sweden.
The chapter provides an overview of the Swedish data protection framework, including the interaction between the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national legislation such as the Swedish Data Protection Act. It also discusses the role and enforcement practice of the Swedish Data Protection Authority, developments in privacy litigation, and key sectoral issues such as cookies, employment privacy and personalised advertising.
The chapter further addresses emerging regulatory developments, including the interaction between data protection rules and new EU legislation such as the EU Data Act and the AI Act.
